This violin has gorgeous Maple ribs , neck and back. It is decorated with a Hardanger's rosemaling. The Hardanger is the national instrument of Norway. It has 4 bowed violin strings, and 4 sympathetic strings which add a haunting sustain to the music.

This Stradavari copy is made of Spruce and has beautiful flamed Maple for the neck, ribs, and back. It was carefully graduated to Carlene Hutchin's specifications to make the easiest in playability and power. It has 4 bowed violin strings and 4 sympathic strings. It hasd Knilling planetary pegs on the sympathetic strings to make them easier to tune

22 String Lap Harp - built to order
This 22 string lap harp was built with classical guitar tuners instead of harp tuning pins. It can be tuned from E to high E or a little higher from C to high C. This was built out of flamed Hard Maple, but it can be built out of Walnut, Rosewood, Cherry or other woods. Feel free to set up an appointment to try it out.

Carlene Hutchins Soprano Violin
Carlene designed the Soprano to play an octave higher than a Viola. This one is hand carved out of Western Red Cedar and African Mahogany. The plates are balanced and carefully tuned to match. It plays as a powerful Soprano, or if you string it up with typical violin strings it fits between a 3/4 and a 1/2 for beginners.

These 15 string Zithers are often called lap harps. They cover 2 octaves, from the G above middle C up two octaves to high G. They are diatonic - they play a two octave G scale.

The Soprano Bowed Psaltery is a 25 string instrument going from the G above middle C, up 2 octaves to a high G.

The Alto Bowed Psaltery is a 32 String instrument that goes from middle C up 2 and a half octaves to high G.

Fusion 13 Violin
Hand carved of beautifully flamed Black Cherry for ribs and back with Western Red Cedar for the belly. Flamed Maple for the finger board, chin rest and tail piece. It has the length, depth and arches of a fullsize 14 inch violin, but it has been shifted to have the playing length and reach of a 13 inch violin. Part of the continuing study to get the most sound from an instrument into the hands of smaller players.

The Fusion 15 Viola
This unique Viola has two 16 1/2 inch Viola halves shifted so that it only has the reach of a 15 inch Viola to actually play it. Hand carved from Western Red Cedar for the belly and European Maple for the neck, ribs, and back. Graduated and tuned to match crucial resonant frequencies in the belly and back. Rich and sweet in sound.

Carlene Hutchins' Alto 20 inch Viola
This hand carved Viola utilizes Western Red Cedar for the belly and Flamed Red Maple for it's neck, ribs, back, and finger board. The plates have been graduated and tuned for optimum resonant frequencies in an attempt to give you power and projection from top to bottom of the instruments range.
Known as a vertical viola because it is played upright like a Cello. It was designed to give a Viola the brightness and power associated with world class violins. It's depth and power are truly impressive.
